The THz radiation source is the key components to emit terahertz waves and realize the application of terahertz wave. Currently, SITTI has developed two world-leading approaches that could produce the THz radiation source after years of research and test; it creatively puts forward the idea to produce the THz radiation with the combination of electronics and photonics.
Double-electron injection gyrotron created by Academician Liu Shenggang, Dean of SITTI can work at two different frequencies, due to the nonlinear coupling between the two electron injections, high-order harmonic harmonics mode power is significantly enhanced. The current double-electron injection gyrotron were developed to work at 0.11THz and 0.22THz, respectively, with an output power of 20KW.
